Having trouble connecting to the Beehive AI Agent?
If you're seeing this message:
"We're having trouble connecting to the AI Agent."
This is usually caused by an unstable internet connection or network settings that block WebSocket access (e.g., firewalls). Please check your connection and try again.
If the issue persists, visit our help page or Contact Support for assistance.
Don’t worry — this is often quick to resolve! Try the steps below 👇
🔄 1. Refresh or Reopen the Dashboard
Sometimes, a simple refresh can resolve the issue:
Click "Try Again" or refresh the browser page
Still not working? Close the tab and reopen the dashboard in a new one
This quick reset can often re-establish the connection to the AI Agent.
🌐 2. Try a Different Browser
Some browsers may restrict features like WebSockets.
Recommended: Chrome, Safari, or Edge
Avoid browsers with aggressive privacy modes or extensions enabled.
🧩 3. Disable Extensions Temporarily
Extensions (like ad blockers or privacy tools) can block WebSocket connections.
Try temporarily turning them off and refreshing the page.
🔐 4. Check Firewall, VPN, or Antivirus Settings
These tools can block the connection behind the scenes.
macOS:
Go to System Settings > Network > Firewall
Under VPN & Filters, look for any tools or profiles that may be blocking access
Windows:
🪟 Open Windows Security > Firewall & network protection
Check for active VPNs, antivirus software, or third-party firewalls that might restrict connections
Other devices/networks:
🔧 If you’re on a corporate, school, or guest Wi-Fi, IT policies may block WebSocket access.
In this case, please reach out to your IT or network administrator for assistance
✅ 5. Whitelist Our App (For Network Admins)
Make sure your network isn’t blocking us by whitelisting our application:
📌 Whitelist: app.beehive.ai
This can help resolve access or connectivity issues to the AI Agent.
Please reach out to your IT or network administrator for assistance.
🌐 6. Test WebSocket Compatibility
The AI Agent uses WebSockets to enable real-time communication in your browser.
To check if your browser supports WebSockets, visit: websocketstest.com
Click “Run Test” and wait for the results
If the test fails, it’s likely that a browser setting, firewall, or network restriction is blocking the connection. You may need to adjust those settings or contact your IT administrator for help.
📸 Tip: You can also take a screenshot of your test results and share it with our Beehive AI Support team — we’ll help you interpret the results and provide next steps.
