"Compare" and "Average" Data Views
There are different ways that you can view your filtered widget data by adjusting your widget settings. These views are possible with both close- and open-ended widgets.
Please note that these views are available only when you apply filters!
Comparison View
You can compare results of different filters by seeing the datapoints side by side. These different filters are color-coded so you can easily tell which is which.
You can also tell which values are above or below average in the widget comparison view. Once filters are applied, the average value of each data point will be automatically calculated. You'll be able to see how filter results fare by comparing the bar to the white dotted line.
Average View
You can average filtered results, combining different data points and displaying the average value.
You can tell which filters are being applied in the values by the color-coded blocks next to the averaged bar. In the example above, there is a green and a pink box next to the bars, meaning that both filters have been applied in the calculation.
Applying Data Views
To apply the different data views, click the kebab icon at the top right of your widget.
The comparison view is the default view once filters are applied.
To change which filters are shown in a given widget, click on the filter names. This will change the average values accordingly.
Different Widget Types
The comparison and average data views are available for all widget types: trends, bars, and open-ended.
The same principles apply for each type of widget, even though the data may look different.
Have fun exploring your data with these versatile views!
