Filters allow us to leverage any data that exists within the platform.
Advanced Filtering and Query Building
Create complex, nuanced filters using our advanced query engine!
Get started by clicking "+ Select Property." From there, select your data source and the characteristic you would like to focus on.
If you want to create a more advanced filter, you can add property groups to narrow down your search.
You can add as many properties (the characteristics you'd like to target) as you'd like! You can tell how many of your customers will fall under your filter with the indicator to the right.
You can choose between the operators AND or OR when dealing with multiple properties. This can broaden or narrow your searching scope according to your needs.
Once you're done creating your filter, make sure to click "APPLY"!
Saved Segments
If you'd like to save any filters you create, click the "SAVE" button underneath the query builder. Name your segment and add a description to help users understand the segment.
To refer back to your saved segments and reapply them, simply click the "Saved segments" icon in the left rail. Click the segment(s) you would like to apply (you can apply as many as you'd like at once!). Selected segments will change color to indicate that they are selected:
If you can't remember which segment is which, hover over a segment to see the description and which properties the segment captures.
To edit a saved segment, first click on the filter you would like to edit. Once you click "Edit," you'll be redirected to the filter creation page. After you've made your desired edits, remember to click "SAVE."
Clearing Saved Segments
If you would like to clear your segment selection, click on "RESET".
If you need to delete a saved segment, click the dropdown next to the segment you'd like to delete, then select the delete option. This will permanently delete a saved segment.
Filtering within Widgets
You can toggle between the applied filters within any given widget by clicking the filter names. These filters are color-coded so you can easily tell which is which!
You can also create your own queries within specific widgets by clicking the "Filter" button in the top right corner. These filters will apply ONLY to that widget.
You can either create new queries from scratch (above) or you can create queries from preexisting saved filters (below). These filter windows will have the same principles and instructions as dashboard filters.
You'll know if a widget-specific filter is applied when the "Filter" button is highlighted and purple. If you forget which query you've built, hover over the "Filter" button to check again!
You can also stack filters in your widgets by creating widget-specific filters and applying filters to the entire dashboard. It'll look something like this:
Now that you know all about filtering, advanced query building, and how to capture specific pockets of your data, what are you waiting for? Try it out in your own dashboard!
